Work with your Body

I’m not here to tell you that I have this positive aging thing all sorted out in my head.

I don’t.

But I’m working on it.

But what I can absolutely say for certain is that the more time I spend working WITH my body, rather than against it, the more I fall into sync with it, the more awe I have for it, the more beautiful I feel, and the more those so-called “flaws” come to be seen as works of art.

I spent so much of my 20s and early 30s working against my body, wondering why it wasn’t performing in the way that I wanted it to, why it didn’t look a certain way despite all of my effort. What an incredible waste of time and mental energy.

Your body is doing a damn good job trying to keep you safe. The way it coordinates everything is nothing short of incredible. You need to see that. Let’s not waste time thinking our bodies are less than. They are so much more than that.

I truly believe that the more you work with your body, rather than against it, the more respect and admiration you’ll have for it, and the more you’ll appreciate how beautiful it really is.
