What Mothers Do

A good friend of mine gave me a book after my third baby called “What Mother’s Do. Especially when it looks like nothing.” The book explores the perennial question common to mothers: “What have I done all day?” It discusses how the day to day actions of mothering a babe, for example, soothing a babe with the sound of your heartbeat and warmth of your body, have profound effects on their social and emotional development.

So to any mama out there feeling guilty for not being “productive” here is your reminder that soothing, sitting, responding, feeding, changing etc. your babe is incredibly profound and more than enough. ❤️
