5 Core Beliefs I have as a Naturopathic Doctor
Here is what I believe as a naturopathic physician:
1) You are an integrated whole. All parts of you - both physical and mental/emotional - are connected and integrate together. Your treatment plan must reflect this and if it doesn’t, it’s missing vital components.
2) Address the root of the issue to create lasting change. Bandaid solutions are just that. Use them, sure, but dig deeper. You will not heal unless and until you address the why.
3) Health care should always involve different practitioners of different disciplines and modalities. Create your health care team with this in mind. And if a practitioner tells you otherwise, maybe consider replacing them😉
4) Your labs are not the whole picture. If your labs are “normal” but you feel like something is off, advocate further. You know your body better than anyone.
5) Prevention is where it’s at. Lifestyle will have the biggest impact. Full stop.
